Community Events/Projects
"Olde Tyme Family Nites:
An old time social where people play music, sing and dance. Held every Friday night (Sept-June) in McLennan at the Elks Hall.
"Cozee Coffee"
An informal women's group for discussion on a variety of topics. Held monthly in both Falher and Donnelly.
Sing-A-Longs
Held in Girouxville the 2nd Thursday of the month. Come relax with a cup of coffee and sing some of the old time music.
Babysitter Courses
Smoky River FCSS is offering the Red Cross Babysitter's Course for 12 years youth and older.
Volunteer Appreciation
An annual event held to recognize the importance of our volunteers.
Seniors Week
Our FCSS makes plans for something special in each community during seniors week.
Summer Day Camp
For youth 6-12 during the months of July and August. Each week we move to different locations across the region.
Workshops
FCSS hosts workshops on self-esteem, parenting skills and a variety of other topics.

Seniors Transportation
We administer the Smoky River Community Transportation Program. The handi-van goes to Grande Prairie, Peace River, High Prairie and Slave Lake. Contact us for a schedule.
Christmas Hamper Program
We manage the program that provides food and toys for families in need in our region during the Christmas season.
Food Bank
We are agents for the High Prairie & District Food Bank. Applications can be completed at either of our offices.
IncomeTax
Our office is trained in the volunteer income tax program through the Canada Revenue Agency, to complete returns for low-income individuals.
Government Forms
We assist with government forms of all types for all ages. If you are not sure how to fill out any form, bring it to us for help. Applications forms for the most popular seniors programs are available at our offices.
Disaster Social Services
In the event of a large emergency or disaster, FCSS will be opening up reception centres for those who need a safe place to go during the emergency.
